  • Wonderful! Does look like a very intelligent solution to the 365 days a year commuter-problems I encounter... I would like to know more about this cover... Questions like: 1. Is it readily available to others or is it tailer made? 2. How much is the weight? 3. What does it cost? 4. What are your experiances? Pro's and con's ... 5. Would you recommend it? Is there anyone else who owns a cover like this? I have tried to order a Versatile from the Dutch (Dronten based) company Flevobike (http://www.flevobike.nl/content/view/25/55/lang,nl/) and alternatively a Quest or Mango from Velomobiel http://www.velomobiel.nl/ but they cannot deliver one within the first few years... The Versatile is near to perfect: I've tried it and it works superb. A trike that has all you can dream of: a beautiful sexy cover, a Rohloff 14 maintenace-free traction, a fully closed maintenace-free chainbox... at a price of at least 8000 euro's expensive but guaranteed to last for ages and at very low maintenance costs after the initial purchase. But I think over a year is too long to wait for! Also the weight (40 kilo's) makes it unsuited for steep slopes (Holland is a very flat country) The "Quest" is faster and weighs less kilo's (30 kg) but it is more sensative and because the wheels are inside the cover it looses the abilaty to make sharp curves: 11 m you need to turn round! With a basic price of around 5800 euro's it is cheaper than the Versatile, but more vulnerable and it lacks the comfort of the locked in chain and Rohloffs traction system. It does however run 10% faster than the Versatile! This is also due to the fact that it was designed in cooperation with the Delft Technical University (wind tunnel). The Mango is a compromise between the Quest and the Versatile: cheaper than the latter, but also more maintenance and open chain and derailleur traction, but shorter and more capable of steering through sharp curves. Its basic cost is around 4500 euro's but it takes too long to get a Mango: over two years. Pim.

  • This is the nicest looking homebuilt I have ever seen. Are detailed plans available anywhere?
