I trained for this race out in Borrego Springs. Day 1: Started 2 miles east of Big Pine, road to Eureka Valley and back (57 mi; 8,225 ft climbing) Day 2: Independence to finish at Onion Valley trailhead (13 mi; 5,275 ft. of climbing)
