We got up early the next morning and headed down to Adel. The meat had cooled nicely during the night, and we put it in the cooler at the Adel Store for a couple of hours to further cool it before wrapping it in a sleeping bag for the long trip back towards the Portland area. Here, we stopped in one of the "larger" towns, this one Paisley, Ore. out in eastern Oregon's high desert.
