On the second night of our hunt, there was a strange noise that came from my truck. We couldn't locate it, but the next evening we discovered a big rat trying to build a nest inside the engine compartment. We got it out of there and removed the nest. Just in case it came back, I loaded up my little .22 revolver with some 'snake shot' loads. Later that night the noise and rat were back. We went out and lifted the hood and I carefully shot and hit the rat, which nicely dispatched it
