Visiting the D.C. area from his current home in Portland, Oregon, Dave Tobin was almost on the way back to the airport, when a phone call revealed that a very old friend, Tim "Puker" Whistler, had just resurfaced, after nearly 20 years, at a nearby skatepark. Luckily, I just happened to have a camera in my hand around a vert skating situation for the first time in years. I'm not happy with the photographic quality of the pictures, but Tobin was as bizarrely photogenic as ever. Here, attempting a backside carve grind over the deathbox, he ends up actually carving the underside of the deathbox lip, almost hanging up on the way back out. July 1, 2007
