Album Info:

Fossil Trace Golf Course is just north of Interstate 70 on the northwest corner of Denver Colorado. This Fabulous course was carved out of an old Clay mine quarry using the wonderful talents of golf course architect "Jim Engh". (Already known for his wonderful layouts at Lakota Canyon at Newcastle Colorado, Redlands Mesa at Grand Junciton Colorado, and Red Hawk Ridge just down Highway 25 by Castle Rock Colorado),Mr Engh fashioned a routing across a full feature landscape to give us the experience of "Fossil Trace". Set between 5000 and 6000 ft. in elevation, the course offers up a few more yards off the tee. Every hole on this golf course is unique, bringing it's own set of challenges, risks, and rewards. Playing from just over 6800 yards from the tips, or as short as 4681 yards from the short tees, there is a game here for golfers of all handicaps. Fossil Trace was named 2nd. best new "affordable" course by Golf Digest in 2003, and in Golf Digest's Best Places to Play 2006-2007. Playing golf under the shadow of Table Mountain, with limestone monoliths sprikled around the course, (some in the middle of the fairway), Fossil Trace is certainly a visual distraction. The course is kept in immaculate condition throughout the golf season which can last from late April until Late September and even well into October. A round of golf on Fossil Trace in the late afternoon or early evening is truly a treat..
