Album Info:
It was probably sometime in 1986 when Eric Beacom pulled this backside boneless at a small ditch in Olney, Maryland, known to area skaters as Cashell Ditch. By this time, the local community was actively trying to prevent skateboarding in the concrete structure, turning it into a bigger nuisance and eyesore than the skaters ever did. The ineffective attempt at ruining the surface for riding, by pouring tar on it, can be seen in the lower left corner. Eventually large, jagged stones were concreted into the flat bottom of the ditch and it was finally rendered useless to skateboarders. Now juvenile delinquents hang out there, graffitiing the sloped walls and breaking glass on the rocks. (This is a black and white print made from a color negative, back in the 80's, using no filters. The flash blur is in the negative.)
